The US citizens of the Virgin Islands are in urgent need of basic supplies following the devastation of hurricanes Irma and Maria.
This need has been underreported and unrecognized by most Americans in the continental US.
TecFac’s own Shanelle Gibbons was born and raised on St. Thomas and has direct knowledge of the needs through families and friends on the island who have lost houses, roofs, and most of their possessions.
Shanelle has been working through her professional network to identify needed supplies, arrange for shipping at a reduced cost, and establish a distribution channel on all three Virgin Islands. Sending money is not an option as the supply chains to the island have been disrupted and these supplies are simply not available in significant quantity in stores.
Our goal is to ship $50,000 or more worth of supplies and send the first shipment before the end of the year.
Can you help us? Any donations you contribute to this effort are tax deductible. Donations can be made via PayPal here or if you would like to pay by check, please make checks payable to Come Follow Jesus Church and mail it to 12 Taft Court, Suite 106, Rockville, MD 20850.
We will use your donation to buy the supplies here, ship them to St. Thomas, and then distribute them on all three Virgin Islands. We are working in conjunction with Sean Georges, Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, theRotary Club II of St. Thomas, USVI Boxing and Come Follow Jesus Church to accomplish this goal and we will be on-site to ensure the items are distributed door-to-door to the people that need them the most.
